State Guides
State-by-state breakdowns of sweepstakes casino legality, licensed operator access, and prediction market status.
State Coverage
Is online gambling legal in your state?
Each state guide covers legal status and platform availability across three categories: sweepstakes casinos, licensed operators, and prediction markets. Legal status is tracked independently per category — a state may be open for sweepstakes but have no licensed online casino.
All legal status determinations are sourced from state statutes, Attorney General opinions, state gaming commission records, and official regulatory guidance. The map below is toggleable between all three categories.

Understanding the status categories
Status definitions differ by platform category. Here is how each status is defined across the three verticals.
Sweepstakes Casinos
Sweepstakes casinos can legally access this state. No active AG action or statute prohibiting operations identified.
Some platforms operate here with state-specific limitations — e.g. redemption caps, restricted game types, or most platforms having voluntarily exited following enforcement action. Verify per platform.
State statute, AG guidance, or gaming commission order explicitly restricts or prohibits operations. The vast majority of platforms do not operate in these states.
Even in "Available" states, individual platforms may have their own additional exclusions per their Terms of Service. Always verify your state's status directly with the platform.
Licensed Operators
Both online casino and online sports betting are legal. Licensed operators hold valid gaming licenses from the state gaming commission. Players have full regulatory recourse in disputes.
Online sports betting is legal but online casino games are not. Players can access licensed sportsbooks but no real-money online slots, table games, or live dealer.
No legal online casino or online sportsbook. Real-money online gambling is not permitted by state law.
Sourced from state gaming commission public registers. License status verified at time of guide publication — always confirm current status before depositing.
Prediction Markets
CFTC-regulated prediction markets including Kalshi can legally operate and accept players from this state. No state-level prohibition or enforcement action identified.
Platforms are technically accessible but state AG or gaming commission has issued enforcement challenges or cease-and-desist orders. Access may change as litigation develops.
State gaming commission or state law restricts prediction market participation. CFTC-regulated platforms including Kalshi do not offer services in these states.
CFTC registration status verified from public CFTC records. State-level restrictions sourced from individual platform terms and state gaming commission guidance.
